About Edith Castro
Edith Castro holds an MA in Education, and is working toward a second Master’s degree in mathematics. She also makes it a point to invest in continuing education on pedagogy, to keep her methods fresh.
Ms. Castro teaches middle and high school math up to calculus, with special expertise in algebra at all levels. She uses technology extensively. Her homework assignments are online, using software that allows students to ask for help in solving a problem, or to see an example – and to keep working on the problem, or on similar problems, until they feel they have mastered the relevant skill. It is important to her, she says, that each student “experience success in their learning of math, because this will help them persevere when they encounter difficulty learning the subject.”
Additionally, in cases where every student has a computer, they participate actively throughout lessons by typing in their answers to specific questions online, for immediate feedback – and so Ms. Castro can see when she needs to re-teach material for clarification. She feels that she has “made a commitment with students, parents, and administrators to help students learn. I want parents to feel confident that their child will receive a good learning experience.”

Mr. Littler currently teaches anatomy/physiology, microbiology and chemistry at Rhodes State University and is certified by the state of Ohio to teach general science, biology, chemistry physics and earth science.
Prof. Elmor’s goal is “to inspire a love of the Arabic language in my students; to nurture an appreciation of Arabic culture through language, poetry and content curated to each student’s learning ability”.
Ms. Rinaldi’s experience includes working with a wide array of students from elementary school to adult education in nine different countries across 5 continents, including special needs students.
Ms. Odell has extensive experience teaching biology along with earth science, and worked for ten years as a math tutor. She is also a strong believer in innovative teaching methods making extensive use of smart boards and tablet computers.
Danny Didomenico is a veteran online instructor who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and music from Bennington College. Danny has been working with students for over 10 years, both in the classroom and online.
Ms. Ebs’ areas of expertise are biology and geosciences (earth science). She has also taught math and science for the ACT; foundational, middle-school, pre-algebra, and algebra math classes; general science; and chemistry.
Ms. Kaufman’s experience includes teaching both mainstream and special needs elementary school students. In addition, she has taught adult education classes and worked as a private piano teacher.
Momeena Garcia teaches math (K-12 and college), English language arts (elementary and middle school), special education (K-12), and Spanish, as well as preparation for exams such as the SAT and ACT.
Ms. Frias teaches elementary and high school literature, reading, English and college-level pedagogy and business. She also has training by the AVID organization in how to teach for college readiness.
Mr. Golabek holds an M.A. in teaching and an M.Ed. in educational technology. He holds an Illinois teaching license, and is certified in secondary education (English language arts grades 6-12) and special education.
Mr. Litwack loves to learn as well as teach, and brings his curiosity and knowledge on a wide range of topics into the classroom, such as history, sociology, philosophy, and more.
Ms. Powell is certified in New York to teach social studies and special education social studies to grades 7-12; in California to teach social sciences and special education (moderate disabilities) to grades K-12; and in Massachusetts to teach history and political science/philosophy to grades 8-12.
“I believe that all students can and will learn if they are motivated, engaged, and given enough time,” she says. “Students are individuals and so are their needs. I always want to know if there is a better way to teach a lesson, and go in search of tools or ideas that would take my lessons to the next level.”
