This course prepares students for the Regents exam for Algebra 1. Algebra incorporates the many situations of the unknown value of a number as well as knowledge of formulae; which are a set of instructions for solving problems. Students learn to analyze, solve, create, express and exchange algebraic formulae and graphs in several formats including linear, exponential and quadratic functions. Not only does the course cover the basics of Algebra 1, it provides instruction in test-taking skills. Students will walk away with a comfortable knowledge base of the structure of the Regents test, providing them the tools needed to analyze and extend their Algebra 1 knowledge.
This course is based upon New York State core curriculum requirements for Algebra 1. Course structure includes daily classwork and homework in DarwinPrep, TG’s online study application. Study may take place in one-on-one learning or small groups of six students.
